what to bring to your scan

Please bring with you your referral form.  This is important.  We accept all referral forms from any provider

 

SCAN PREPARATION

The following scans require preparation:

Pregnancy Ultrasound

A full bladder is recommended during the first trimester.  This helps us see the uterus and the fetus more clearly.  Start drinking approx 500 mls 1 hour prior to your scan and do not empty until after your scan.

Female Pelvic Ultrasound / Renal Ultrasound

You will need a full bladder, please follow the same instructions as the pregnancy ultrasound above.

Abdominal Ultrasound

You must not eat or drink for 4 hours prior to your appointment. You may drink water or juice and continue to take your regular medication.

MUSCULOSKELETAL scans

No preparation in necessary for these scans.  Wearing comfortable clothing that is easy to remove. If you are female and having a Shoulder Ultrasound (Rotator Cuff),we recommend you wear singlet with shoulder straps with the rest of your normal clothing.

STEROID INJECTION

No prior preparation.  A full medical history and consent process will take place prior to the injection.  An aftercare sheet will be given.

    All scans covered by ACC are completely free. (No surcharge) 

  • FREE Pregnancy Scans

    To all NZ residents.  We do have a $25 surcharge on our Anatomy scans.  This is due to the complexity and time taken to perform this important scan.

  • Extended Hours

         We are open late on Wednesday’s until 7pm at our Tauranga branch for people working during the week.

Your ultrasound guided steroid injection with be performed by our Radiologist and a nurse.  Bookings are recommended.
